Featuring 3000 hectares of land and a diversity of bird species and plains game, Tala Private Game Reserve is a wildlife conservancy offering accommodation, conference facilities, restaurants as well as a rock pool picnic area.

The African-themed rooms are located at four different lodges within the reserve, and all offer air-conditioning and en suite bathroom.

Tala Private Game Reserve offers daily 2-hour game drives on open vehicles conducted by trained rangers. Please book the game drives on arrival. Guests can also enjoy fishing, mountain biking, paintball, archery and bush walks in the reserve.

The game reserve is located 30 km from Pietermaritzberg and 70 km from Durban. Durban’s King Shaka International Airport is 100 km away.

Beautiful place, needs a few things to be sorted out.
Perfect location, beautiful resort plus animals, the room had a beautiful view and the most peaceful river and birds singing in the morning.
Restaurant did not have 40% of what's on their menu for our entire 3 nights and 4 days stay, our room's aircon was not working and we called in the manager who said "Oh even with the previous guests it was not working, it's the remote". One other disappointment was when we asked at the restaurant to have the 2nd fire place on since the 1st one had a reserved table next to it and we were told there's no enough wood.

We enjoyed our stay.
My stay was great, even though it was a rainy day so we ended up not doing the activities we were planning to do. We had dinner , I am vegetarian and I had options to choose from. Oh and they were able to bring the food in our room instead of having it at the restaurant. I was Happy.
My partner unfortunately didn't like his dinner .

The rockpool was disturbing. Water did not look clean.
